The neon LED strip is a line of light meant to be seen, unlike the COB, which stays hidden. It gives a full, even run of light with the look of classic neon and none of the gas or glass, to outline a reception, follow a corridor or pick out a wall.

What matters most here is the water protection: IP65 on the RGBIC version and IP67 on the white versions. That lets you install it where an indoor strip cannot go, such as a covered entrance.

Why choose a neon LED strip for your gym?

Some light is there to illuminate, and some light is the decorative feature itself. The neon strip is the second kind. You do not tuck it into a channel, you leave it on show: a lit line running along the corridor, the outline of the reception, the run that marks the wall where your members take their photos.

A full line, not a row of dots

An ordinary LED strip, when it stays in view, shows the light points one by one. The neon has a diffuser, so the light comes out as a full, even run from end to end. That evenness is what makes it presentable in visible areas, and it is why it replaces glass neon without the gas or the fragility.

Goes where an indoor strip cannot

With IP65 on the RGBIC and IP67 on the white versions, the neon handles splashes and moisture, which means you can install it in covered entrances and porches. Neither version is suitable for submersion or shower areas, and in wet areas it must be installed with the ends properly sealed.

Which version should you choose?

The three versions serve different purposes:

If you want colour and effects controlled from your phone, go with the RGBIC. If you want fixed white light, in long 15 m runs and with the highest protection rating, go with the warm 3000K or the cool 6500K.

The RGBIC gives plenty of colours and effects, but it does not produce pure white. If you need technical white light, choose the 3000K or 6500K version, not the RGBIC.

It comes down to two questions: does the light stay in view or out of sight, and is there water nearby?

In short: choose the neon LED strip when the light is the decorative feature itself and when you need protection against moisture. Choose the COB LED strip for indirect lighting with the source hidden, in dry interiors. Many gyms use both.

Installation and maintenance of Neon LED Strip

Clean and degrease the surface, which needs to be dry and smooth. Measure and plan the installation before fixing. Test the strip powered up before the final application. Fix with an aluminium channel, clips or adhesive, depending on the model, without forcing or creasing it. Electrical connections must follow the instructions.

Yes, only at the cutting points marked by the manufacturer. Cutting anywhere else damages the product. After cutting, the end must be closed with an end cap and neutral silicone to maintain the water protection.

It follows wide curves, but it must not be bent at sharp angles or creased, as excessive bending damages the strip and affects the light. The strip must also not be used while coiled. To change direction at a corner, cut at the marked point and use a connector.

In a sheltered environment, yes. IP65 resists splashes and IP67 offers greater water protection, but neither is suitable for submersion or shower areas.

No. Even on the water-protected models, the power supply must sit in a dry, ventilated spot and never be covered while in use. The IP rating applies to the strip, not to the electrical components.

Disconnect the product from the mains before cleaning. Use a soft dry cloth, with no abrasive products, solvents or harsh detergents, and avoid excess water.

No periodic maintenance needed. Check now and then that the connections are still properly insulated and that the ends remain sealed. Replace the product or its accessories if there is visible damage.
